There are several types of electrophoretic ink, often called electronic ink. When laminated to a plastic film, and then adhered to electronics, it creates an Electronic Paper Display (EPD), also known as an ePaper Display. epaper displays consumes power only when the pixel color changes (such as turning from black to white). They belong to bi-stable display technology what means that after turning off the power, the image on the display screen can still be retained, making it very energy-efficient. They are available in limted standard sizes only.
